Favorites
Quick access to your most-used snippets.
Favorites
Favorites give you instant access to the snippets you use most often, regardless of which folder they live in. Favorited snippets appear in a dedicated section of the sidebar for one-click access.
Adding a Snippet to Favorites
Keyboard Shortcut
- Select a snippet in the snippet list.
- Press Cmd+D to toggle the favorite status.
This is the fastest way to favorite or unfavorite a snippet.
Context Menu
- Right-click a snippet in the snippet list.
- Select Add to Favorites (or Remove from Favorites if already favorited).
Detail View
In the snippet detail area, click the star icon next to the snippet title to toggle the favorite status.
Viewing Favorites
Favorites appear in the Favorites section at the top of the sidebar. Click Favorites to filter the snippet list to show only your favorited snippets.
When the Favorites filter is active:
- The snippet list displays all favorited snippets across all folders in the current workspace.
- You can still use the search bar to further filter within your favorites.
- Snippets are sorted by your current sort preference (name, date created, date modified).
Removing a Snippet from Favorites
Use any of the same methods used to add:
- Press Cmd+D while the snippet is selected.
- Right-click and select Remove from Favorites.
- Click the star icon in the detail view.
Removing a snippet from favorites does not delete the snippet. It simply removes it from the Favorites filter.
Favorites in the Menubar
Favorited snippets also receive priority placement in the menubar app. When you open the menubar, your favorites are listed prominently for quick copying.
Tips
- Favorite your templates -- If you have boilerplate code you paste frequently (e.g., a component template, a test setup, or a common SQL query), mark it as a favorite for quick access.
- Use favorites as a "working set" -- Favorite the snippets you are actively using for a current task, then unfavorite them when the task is complete.
- Cmd+D is your friend -- The keyboard shortcut is the fastest way to manage favorites without taking your hands off the keyboard.
- Favorites are workspace-scoped. Each workspace has its own set of favorites.
